Challenge
Large buildings and paved yards change the microclimate around them: wind corridors, heat islands, missing shade and noise. Outdoor comfort decides whether public spaces around logistics will be used.
Design questions
- Are outdoor spaces sheltered from strong wind?
- Do they get sun in winter and shade in summer?
- How hot do roofs and yards get?
Where are the metrics, tools and case studies?
They appear automatically below under Connections, and in Obsidian under the
auto_properties.
Connections
- Case studies: Julia Kopác, Robin Jesenský, Sara Sulollari
- Metrics: Noise level, Pedestrian-level wind speed, Sun exposure of outdoor space, Thermal comfort, Tree count and canopy cover, Urban heat island effect, Wind conditions
- Tools (via metrics): Butterfly, Cyclops, Dragonfly, Eddy3D, Geoportal Praha, Honeybee, Jifto, Ladybug, Lands Design, Pollination
