What it does
Parametric finite-element plugin for Grasshopper that gives architects and engineers interactive structural feedback in early design. It analyses beams, trusses and shells and can be coupled with optimisation solvers to minimise material use.
What it can calculate
- Finite-element analysis of trusses, frames and shells
- Nodal displacements / deflections
- Beam and shell internal forces, stresses
- Reaction forces
- Element utilization
- Second-order (ThII) and large-deformation analysis
- Buckling modes
- Eigen modes and natural vibrations
- Cross-section optimization
- BESO topology optimization for beams/shells
- Reinforcement optimization
- Structural mass / material quantities
Status
Active; version 3.1.4 (per website/manual). Paid PRO/EDU licences (food4rhino: ‘free / from 30€’), free trial and free licences for teaching/workshops.
