Challenge
Data centres are the newest logistics typology: they store data instead of goods, and turn almost all their electricity into heat. Cooling them takes energy and water; their waste heat can warm their neighbours.
Design questions
- How much heat does the facility produce, and who could use it?
- How efficient is the cooling (PUE, water use)?
- Can climate (wind, cold air) cool the building passively?
Where are the metrics, tools and case studies?
They appear automatically below under Connections, and in Obsidian under the
auto_properties.
Connections
- Case studies: Julia Godard Lombard, Katrin Rybinskiy, Robin Jesenský
- Metrics: Carbon usage effectiveness, Heat recovery radius, Power usage effectiveness, Waste heat recovery, Water consumption, Wind conditions
- Tools (via metrics): Eddy3D, Jifto, Ladybug, nPro
