Challenge
The last step of delivery is the most expensive and polluting part of the supply chain. Micro-hubs, cargo bikes, consolidation and new modes like drones can cut trips, emissions and traffic.
Design questions
- How many vehicle-km and emissions does the delivery model cause?
- How large is the catchment of one hub, and how many hubs does a city need?
- How fast can parcels reach customers?
Where are the metrics, tools and case studies?
They appear automatically below under Connections, and in Obsidian under the
auto_properties.
Connections
- Case studies: Johannes Berger, Khrystyna Verbitska, Roshni Basu, Thomas Olsen
- Metrics: Delivery catchment, Delivery time, Energy per package delivered, Last-mile delivery cost, Last-mile delivery emissions, Public transport accessibility, Road freight impact
- Tools (via metrics): Geoportal Praha
