Challenge
Warehouses are among the most land-hungry building types: one storey, huge footprints, large paved yards and parking. Reducing land take means stacking, compacting or sharing.
Design questions
- How much land does the logistics function consume per unit of output?
- Can the footprint be reduced by stacking or better yard design?
- What can the freed land be used for?
Where are the metrics, tools and case studies?
They appear automatically below under Connections, and in Obsidian under the
auto_properties.
Connections
- Case studies: Adam Večeřa, Amy Naprstek, Hynek Hrabík, Johannes Berger, Julia Kopác
- Metrics: Function stacking index, Impervious surface ratio, Land take, Number of docks, Parking capacity, Space utilisation, Throughput per site area, Yard area per dock
- Tools (via metrics): AutoTURN, Grasshopper
